Origem, natureza e objectivos
A Casa de Goa Associação de Goa, Damão e Diu foi formada em 1987 por um grupo de Goeses imigrantes de primeira geração que, por longo tempo, sentiam a necessidade de unir esforços para preservar a cultura Goesa.
Os estatutos originais e o regulamento interno foram revistos em Janeiro de 2003 mas a missão manteve-se. A Casa de Goa é uma Instituição de Interesse Público não lucrativa sem opções políticas, partidárias nem religiosas. Os associados tendem a ser goeses e seus familiares mas a associação é aberta a todos os que se interessam por Goa e pela cultura Goesa.
Os principais objectivos são a preservação da cultura goesa especialmente junto dos goeses de segunda e terceira geração; colaboração com organismos Portugueses, Indianos e outros interessados em investigação e promoção da cultura de Goa, Damão e Diu pelo mundo; promover actividades culturais e recreativas para os membros e público em geral; construir e desenvolver pontes entre Portugal e a Índia.

A brief overview of the origin, nature and aims
- Goan association in Lisbon, launched in 1987, following the efforts of a handful of 1st generation Goan migrants who had, for a long time, felt the need to join efforts in order to preserve Goan culture and what is now entitled “goanity”.
- The original statutes and internal functioning rules were reviewed in January 2003 but the statement of mission remained the same. Casa de Goa is a public utility non-profit institution with neither political or party affiliation nor religious option. It has an open membership, made up of Goans and their families living in Portugal or abroad and Portuguese people in some way connected to Goa
- Relevant aims – preservation of cultural identity, specially by 2nd and 3rd generation Goans; collaboration with Portuguese, Indian and other bodies interested in the research and dissemination of the cultures of Goa, Damão and Diu; promotion of cultural and recreational activities for our members and open to the public. IN SHORT: building bridges between Portugal and India.
